  4. Arts Center Feasibility Study Report
    Discussion

    Briefing from the Office of Economic and Workforce Development on the findings in Economic Research and Associates’ (“ERA”) interim report on the feasibility study for a San Francisco Arts Center. ERA will present their research and recommendations regarding the Van Ness Avenue and Grove Street site, along with representatives of SFJAZZ.

  5. Summer in the City Symphony Concert Series
    Action

    Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract with the San Francisco Symphony to produce the 2008 Summer in the City concert series in an amount not to exceed $1,633,039.

  6. Arts Research Grant
    Action

    Motion to award a grant of up to $100,000 to Center for Cultural Innovation to conduct environmental scans and assessments of the arts field; develop tools and methodologies to measure impact of the arts; and assess the level of cultural equity in funding.

  7. Mexican Museum
    Discussion

    Presentation, discussion, and possible action to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs, or his designee, in consultation with the City Attorney’s Office, to proceed with investigating, negotiating, preparing, and finalizing a draft agreement with the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (“SFRA”) to use SFRA funds to help support and encourage the operational and financial stability of the Mexican Museum, as well as the public programs and activities of the Mexican Museum as an important cultural and community resource. The Director of Cultural Affairs would then present such agreement to the Commission for final approval at a future date.
