Community Arts & Education Committee Recommendations (03/11/03)
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-070: Motion for the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract with Courtney Utt not to exceed $6,500 for the design of the WritersCorps 2003 anthology project from Youth Arts Fund.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-071: Motion to approve CAE to begin a two year process of review for the cultural center program funding.
Civic Design Committee Recommendations (03/17/03)
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-072 Motion to approve Moscone Convention Center Roof Photovoltaic Program Phase 3.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-073: Motion to approve Octavia Boulevard Improvement Project Phase 3 contingent upon review of plant selection by commissioner Cochran.
In a correction of the following item, the word "minimum" was changed to "maximum."
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-074: Motion to approve Hayes Green Phase 2 contingent upon review of plant selection by commissioner Cochran and relocation of proposed trees and vertical elements to the eastern and western edges of the site, maximum of 2' from pedestrian walkways.
Visual Arts Committee Recommendations (03/19/03)
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-075: Motion to authorize the Civic Art Collection Program Director as agent to conduct negotiations, execute and submit all documents for grants from the State of California Department of Parks and Recreations for restoration of the Portals of the Past Monument in Golden Gate Park.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-076: Motion to approve Boom Town, six designs by artist Kara Maria, for the Art on Market Street Kiosk Poster Series 2003, to be installed in 24 kiosks along Market Street, from May 16 to August 14, 2003.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-077: Motion to approve the mural design by Susan Cervantes at 100 Alemany Street (Farmers Market) funded by Neighborhood Beautification.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-078: Motion to approve the mural design by Khalil Bendib, Said Nuseibeh, and Fayeq Oweis, Ph.D. at 20 Jones Street funded by Neighborhood Beautification.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-079: Motion to approve the mural design by Josef Norris on the side of the Performing Arts Garage at the corner of Fulton and Gough Streets funded by The San Francisco Arts Commission Cultural Equity Grants Program.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-080: Motion to approve tactile signage/mural for the Wawona Club House done by sight impaired and deaf youth.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-081 Motion to approve the design of the Peace Wall project for Koshland Park.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-082 Motion to approve the preliminary proposal for two sculptures with possible change to the jeweled ceramic insets by artist Scott Donahue to be installed in the landscaping for the renovated Richmond Branch Library.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-083: Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract in an amount not to exceed $36,000 with Scott Donahue for design development, fabrication and installation of two sculptures for the Richmond Branch Library.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-084: Motion to approve the final mosaic tile artworks by Isis Rodriguez to be installed on retaining walls at the 23rd and Treat Park and Clubhouse.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-085 Motion to approve final design for artwork by Johanna Poethig for Rochambeau Playground.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-086 Motion to approve the Selection Panel's recommendation of artist Amy Blackstone to implement her art proposal for Helen Wills Playground with modifications.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-087: Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a contract in an amount not to exceed $5,000 with Amy Blackstone to develop a design of her artwork proposal for Helen Wills Playground.
- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-088 Motion to approve the following artists as finalists for the Coffman Pool Public Art Project, and to pay each artist/team an honorarium of $500 for development of a proposal: Scott Donahue, Sheila Ghidini, John King and Regina Case, Horace Washington (Steve Gillman and Katherine Keefer, alternate).

- RESOLUTION NO. 0414-03-090: Motion to review and approve 3 grants totaling $360,000 in the 02-03 cycle of the Cultural Equity Initiative Level 2 category to SEW Productions/Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, Theatre Rhinoceros, and Kearny Street Workshop.
