5. Presentation from the Tenderloin People’s Congress
Did not happen as they were not present.

6. Presentation by Company Liaisons on year to date progress and a briefing from companies planning to renew their CBA. [Discussion]
a. This section gives the Company Liaisons the opportunity to present on the activities in the community.

PAE Engineers –Sarah Dawson shared that they completed their double match fundraiser for Tenderloin Community School, raising about 14k. They plan to do this again for as a part of their 2019 CBA. Chair Sam Dennison then strongly encouraged all companies planning to enter into 2019 CBA agreements to support the Public Schools in the area with financial donations.

Lever-Elaine Yang shared they donated 10k equipment to Redding Elementary School, as well as clothing donations to local charities, and adopted a family from Compass Family Services for the holidays. She reported that in 2019 they’d like to work with after school programs in the tenderloin.

Microsoft- Jakob Rosenberg shared that his colleague joined the board of Community Housing Partnership. He is working on a comprehensive report for their CBA’s over the last 6 years.  They are currently working on distributing grants to the local public schools.

7. Update from Company Liaisons on Public School Initiative. [Discussion]
This was covered in item 6.

8.  General Public Comment
a. At this time, members of the public may address the Citizens Advisory Committee on items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Committee but do not appear on the agenda. With respect to agenda items, the public will be given an opportunity to address the Committee when the item is reached in the meeting. Each member of the public may address the Committee for up to three minutes.

Kelly Walsh –Parent from Redding Elementary School.  She reported that Microsoft has offered schools to apply for 25k grants, and invite other companies to do the same.  The school has lost their full-time social worker.

Wilson Chan- from Nextdoor.com.  He stated the company’s interest in applying for a 2019 CBA. He stated they already have a strong reputation for being involved in their local community and would like to build on this even more so.
 
The Brown Act forbids a Committee from taking action or discussing any item not appearing on the posted agenda, including those items raised at Public Comment. In response to public comment on an item that is not on the agenda, the Committee is limited to:
 
• briefly responding to statements made or questions posed by members of the public, or
• requesting staff to report back on a matter at a subsequent meeting, or
• directing staff to place the item on a future agenda. (Government Code Section 54954.2(a).)

City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B Goodlett Place, is between Grove and McAllister Streets and is wheelchair accessible. The closest BART and MUNI Metro Station is Civic Center, about three blocks away. Accessible MUNI lines nearest City Hall are: 42 Downtown Loop, 49 Van Ness-Mission and F-Market & MUNI Metro (Civic Center Station). There is accessible parking available in the vicinity of City Hall.
