I. The Special Meeting convened at 4:02 p.m.

Commissioner Casper presided.
II. Public comment on all matters appearing on the Special Meeting Agenda Session.
1) Peter Cohn, Counsel, SFNAACP, asked that public comment be allowed at each item.
2) Vernon Grigg III, Esq., said he had no objection to Mr. Cohn’s request.
3) Steven Mayer, commented he had no objection if counsel is allowed to respond to the comments.
4) Mr. Mayer’s request to continue the scheduled July 15, 2002 Hearing on the Appeal of Tammy Haygood will be discussed in Item # V.
III. Job Announcement for Director of Elections issued June 21, 2002 by the Department of Human Resources. Discussion Item. (File No. 0536-02-1)
The Civil Service Commission has been provided with the job announcement issued on June 21, 2002 for the Director of Elections, the eligible list for Director of Elections which expired on June 25, 2002 and the previous job announcement for the Director of Elections.

Action: Executive Officer to include this item for action on the July 15, 2002 agenda of the Hearing of the Appeal of Tammy Haygood. (Vote of 5 to 0)
IV. Request by Tammy Haygood for reinstatement to her position as Director of Elections. Discussion Item. (File No. 0537-02-7)
The Civil Service Commission has been provided with a letter from Vernon Grigg III, Esq. requesting that Tammy Haygood be reinstated.

Action:Place on agenda for action of the scheduled meeting of July 15, 2002 Hearing of the Appeal of Tammy Haygood.
V. General Public Comment on Any Matter Within the Subject Matter Jurisdiction of the Civil Service Commission.
1) Steven Mayer withdrew his request to continue the scheduled July 15, 2002 Hearing of the Appeal of Tammy Haygood.
