Adopt the Human Resources Director’s report on PSC #2001-03/04 through 2007-03/04 with a qualified approval for a period not to exceed six (6) months.  Notify the offices of the Controller and the Purchaser.  The Commission directed the Department to report the results of its meetings with the affected unions. 

 

 

Disclosure:

Commissioner Becerril disclosed that she met with the employee organizations on whether civil service classes can perform the services.

HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR’S REPORT

 

 

Update on the Department of Human Resources Reorganization.

The Department of Human Resources Reorganization – Service Model

 

 

 

The reorganization focused on services in these areas:

 

 

 

Department Services: Recruitment and examination services, each department will have one identified Department of Human Resources liaison

 

 

 

Employee Services: labor relations, EEO workforce development function, client services – Department of Human Resources Fundamentals training program, cross train DHR staff

 

 

 

Administrative Services: Finance, budget, information technology, DHR Human Resources, internal training, a model internal Human Resources

 

 

 

Would like to be more proactive in meeting the needs of the workforce, organized project teams using matrix concept for tasks like MCCP, Layoffs, etc.

 

 

 

Formed Layoff Policy Group, revising the Layoff Handbook, listing FAQs, plans to organize meeting with those that received notices
