Attend a Meeting

The Commission and Department on the Status of Women welcome the involvement of our constituents. The best way to get involved is to attend a meeting. All Commission and committee meetings are open to the public, and we welcome public comment. Agendas detailing meeting topics and action items are posted on our website at least 72 hours before each meeting. Visit the Committees/Task Forces page for meeting schedules, agendas and minutes for each meeting body the Department oversees.

Donate

The Department on the Status of Women has one of the smallest budgets of any Department of the City and County of San Francisco. Your donations help support our important work. Click here to donate.

Join a Committee

At various times, our committees seek dedicated members to carry out projects and initiatives in the community, and announcements about vacancies on these committees are distributed when they occur. These are excellent opportunities for an individual to volunteer their time to create positive and lasting change in San Francisco.

Volunteer with a Grantee

You can also support the work of the Commission and Department by supporting any of our Partner Agencies. Over ¾ of the Department’s budget goes toward our Violence Against Women Prevention and Intervention (VAW) Grants Program, funding community programs serving women and girls. Your time or donation could support our combined efforts to ensure the safety of women and girls in San Francisco. Visit our Partner Agencies page for more information about the programs we fund.

e-News

Stay informed about these ways of getting involved by adding your name to our contact list. We send quarterly e-Newsletters to our partners, and periodic announcements of important events.
