Explanatory document – The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department: the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)’s Implementation of Women & Girls Human Rights, Right to Adequate Standard of Living, Right to Bodily Integrity, Right to Adequate Healthcare, and Human Rights of Girls to Education and Social Services principles.

 All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women.  They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.  Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

Leigh Phillips will provide information on the new Bank of San Francisco program to help low-income individuals and families access low-cost bank accounts.

Edwin Florentino, Marketing Manager with the San Francisco One-Stop Employment Consortium will review the services provided at the One-Stop Employment Centers.

            Human Rights Commission                                      

Maria Cordero, Contract Compliance Officer will review the new local business ordinance which replaces the Women-/Minority-Owned Enterprise Ordinance.

Agnes Briones Ubalde, Director of Office of Small Business & Small Business Commission will discuss available city resources for small business owners.

Lisa Lang, Vice President of Communications for the 49ers, will report on the 49ers diversity initiatives.

Linda Tulett, Deputy Director of the Department of Elections will review key voter information in advance of the November 7th elections.
