      · Executive Director Search - Update

    5. INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT

      · Respect is What’s Sexy Campaign makes Ms. Magazine: The designer of the campaign will be designing a new logo for DOSW’s website.

      · Domestic Violence Public Hearing: To be held on May 15, 2001 from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioner Keehn will give details.

      · Take Our Daughters to Work Day: A newsletter will go out from the Department on this event.

      · Women Who Make a Difference Awards: To be held September 20, 2001, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; will include categories including employment, violence against women awareness, health and science, and the arts.

      · 2001 Directory of Social Services for Women in San Francisco: This has been completed and is now being printed. Will be available for distribution by May 1, 2001.

      · VERIZON Partnership for October 2001: Verizon Wireless has invited DOSW to conduct a public awareness campaign for October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This item will be on May’s agenda.

      · Work Life Survey - Over thirty responses from various City departments.

      · Youth Commission Public Hearing: A report on the Speak Your Mind-Speak Out to City Hall on Youth Homeless Issues, town hall meeting will be distributed to Commission members once it is received from the Youth Commission.

6. OLD BUSINESS

    · CEDAW: To appoint community members for the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) Task Force (ACTION ITEM).

    · FIVE POINT INITIATIVE: To discuss and approve the five point initiatives of the issues raised at the March 28, 2001, Commission neighborhood meeting held in the Bayview Hunters Point community (DISCUSSION ITEM).

7. NEW BUSINESS

    · Peggy Coster, Disabled Women and Medicare (Presentation)

    · FEDERAL BANKRUPTCY LAW BILLS: To approve resolution condemning pending Federal Bankruptcy Law Bills H.R. 333 and S. 420 (DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEM).

    · MILLION MOM MARCH: To endorse the Million Mom March (DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEM).

    · FUNDING ALLOCATION: To approve Funding Committee allocation recommendations for the Department on the Status of Women (DOSW) Violence Against Women (VAW) programs and authorize staff to enter into negotiations with the agencies. (ACTION ITEM).
