Gender Based Violence Prevention and Intervention Grants Program

Through the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Intervention Grants Program, the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women gives almost $8 million in grant funds to community-based organizations that provide essential violence prevention and intervention services to the community. With these funds, Partner Agencies provide critical services to youth and adults who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking in six key areas:

APA Family Support Services provides multi-lingual prevention education to Asian women through home visitation, support groups, public awareness campaigns and community outreach.

Domestic Violence Project and Asian Anti-Trafficking Collaborative
APILO provides legal services and representation to domestic violence survivors, including family law and immigration services. They also coordinate a collaborative partnership of agencies conducting anti-trafficking prevention efforts.

Asian Women’s Shelter
Domestic Violence Shelter Program, Options for Comprehensive Action for Youth (SF OCAY), and Transgender Services
Asian Women’s Shelter provides emergency shelter, intensive case management, 24-hour crisis line, language access, and referrals for battered women and their children, as well as case management services for youth survivors of sex trafficking, and specialized services for transgender survivors of violence.
