June 5, 2018, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election: Nomination Period for the Offices of Mayor and Member of the Board of Supervisors, District 8, Opens on December 15

SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 – The nomination period for candidates for the office of Mayor and for the office of the District 8 Member of the Board of Supervisors begins this Friday, December 15, and ends Tuesday, January 9, at 5 p.m. The offices of Mayor and District 8 Member of the Board of Supervisors will both appear on the ballot for the June 5, 2018, election.

Candidates must obtain and file all nomination documents at the Department of Elections. The documents include nomination papers for collecting signatures and a Declaration of Candidacy that must be executed by the candidate.

Note that the nomination period for candidates for other federal, state, and local offices that will appear on the ballot in the June 2018 election begins on February 12 and ends on March 9. A complete list of offices appearing on the June 2018 ballot is available at sfgov.org/elections/future-elections-0.
