Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee (VAAC)

The San Francisco Department of Elections has openings on the
Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee (VAAC)

The Department of Elections is seeking knowledgeable and committed individuals who would like to participate in the Department of Elections VAAC.

VAAC volunteers may provide input on:

a. Outreach programs for persons with disabilities and the elderly.
b. The accessibility of registration and voting systems, barriers to participation by the elderly and disabled and mechanisms to overcome or correct these barriers.
c. Polling place accessibility in compliance with State Guidelines.
d. Recruitment and training of poll workers relative to accessibility.
e. May undertake other activities relative to accessibility of the voting process.

VAAC shall have a minimun of 5 members. Representatives of organizations of elderly and persons with disabilities must constitute at least 50% of the committee.
