Voter Information Guides

The San Francisco Department of Elections prepares a Voter Information Pamphlet before each election, which is sent to all registered voters. This pamphlet includes a sample ballot, information about voting in San Francisco, and information about local candidates and ballot measures.

For state and federal elections, voters receive two guides: the Voter Information Pamphlet, prepared by the San Francisco Department of Elections, and the California Voter Information Guide, prepared by the Secretary of State. The California Voter Information Guide contains information about state and federal offices and state ballot measures.

You may bring these pamphlets with you to your polling place. Every polling place also has copies. To learn more about options for receiving the Voter Information Pamphlet, view this short video.
