Juvenile Probation Department

We promote community safety by helping juvenile justice-involved young people and their families to thrive.

Serving young people is our priority

We serve young people who have been arrested in San Francisco. We help young people build skills. We connect youth and families to community supports.

Our DJJ Realignment work

San Francisco's DJJ Realignment Subcommittee is implementing the county's plan to support the needs of young people who were previously eligible for Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) commitments. Our plan is healing-centered, family-centered, community-connected, and culturally responsive.

About

The Juvenile Probation Department provides support, services, and supervision to youth and their families during their involvement with the juvenile justice system. We also operate the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center, a secure residential facility for young people under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Delinquency Court.
