The 2017 ADA Coordinators' Academy Training has Arrived
It’s that time of year again for the Mayor’s Office on Disability’s ADA Coordinators’ Academy! This training series is designed to provide ADA Coordinators with the tools and knowledge they need to be an effective and informed departmental ADA Coordinator. All ADA Coordinators who are new to their role or who have not completed the series should attend. If you have attended our trainings in the past, we encourage you to refresh your skills by attending a session or the entire training series . We continue to offer new material and guest speakers each year. To learn more about what material will be covered at this year’s academy, please find attached the sessions’ descriptions.
We are also excited to announce a new session at the ADA Coordinators’ Academy called: Disability Awareness 101. This session is the first in the training series and will focus on disability history, awareness, and etiquette. We encourage that all ADA Coordinators attend this training; it paves the way for why the work we do is so important and promotes cultural competency. The session will take place Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at The Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 1155 Market St., 10th Floor. All trainings will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Please RSVP no later than February 21st as these sessions tend to fill up quickly. Reserve your spot for a single session or the entire series now by calling Nathan Webb at MOD 415.554.6789 or email at email@example.com.
