Super Bowl 50: Street closures and public transit changes start January 23rd and end February 12

Super Bowl 50 is almost here. The San Francisco celebration begins on January 30th and ends with the big game on Sunday, February 7th.  For a complete list of events please visit the SF SB 50 website at: http://www.sfbaysuperbowl.com/#PLLd7zmrhW6B0WPA.97

In order to prepare, street closures and transit changes downtown will start on January 23rd and will end around February 12th.  For a complete list of street closures and transit changes visit the SF MTA website at: https://www.sfmta.com/sb50

 

There will be two major events:

  • Super Bowl City, a free fan village set up on Market Street from Beale and Davis Streets, extending along the Embarcadero and centered in front of the Ferry Building. Super Bowl City includes Justin Herman Plaza, Sue Bierman Park and the Bocce Ball Courts; and

  • The NFL Experience, a ticketed pro football interactive theme park at the Moscone Convention Center.

 

The following streets will be closed to motor vehicles and bicycle traffic for Super Bowl City:

  • Market Street east of Beale/Davis Streets;

  • The Embarcadero southbound, from Washington Street to Don Chee Way (the Ferry Plaza);

  • Steuart Street from Market Street to Don Chee Way; and

  • In addition to the street closures above, the South of Market area from Fremont to Steuart, and Market to Howard will be open to transit, emergency vehicles, and credentialed access only.

 

The following streets will be closed for the NFL Experience:

  • Howard Street, between 3rd Street and 4th Street  in front of the Moscone Convention Center; and

  • Howard Street, partial lane closures between 4th Street and 5th Street.

 

The following SF MTA transit routes will be affected:

  • F Market

  • 2 Clement, 3 Jackson and 31 Balboa North of Market

  • 38 Geary inbound

  • 6 Haight/Parnassus, 9 San Bruno, 14 Mission, 21 Hayes, and 41 Union

BART and the MUNI Metro subway will operate normally, with some increase in service during peak hours

SFMTA encourages you to travel via public transit, foot or bicycle and avoid driving near the area.
