A safe, engaged and inclusive San Francisco
where everyone can contribute and thrive.
STATEMENT OF THE
SAN FRANCISCO OFFICE OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
& IMMIGRANT AFFAIRS AND THE IMMIGRANT RIGHTS COMMISSION
ON THE PASSING OF MAYOR EDWIN M. LEE
December 12, 2017
The San Francisco Office of Civic Engagement & Immigrant Affairs and the Immigrant Rights Commission are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Mayor Edwin M. Lee. Mayor Lee was the best human being and a wonderful Mayor who cared deeply about San Francisco and ALL its people. He was a staunch supporter of the underserved, the forgotten and the underrepresented. He championed immigrants and communities of color and worked hard to make sure the City was a safe, inclusive place where everyone could thrive. We will miss his leadership, his humor, and his encouragement. As the work continues for our communities, we pledge to continue working hard in memory of Mayor Lee in partnership with Mayor Breed, the Board of Supervisors and the entire City family for a San Francisco for all the people.
