Your Money, Your Goals Curriculum

Your Money, Your Goals (YMYG) is a toolkit created by the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) to provide an accessible resource for frontline social service staff to have a basic level of understanding and confidence approaching financial topics with their clients. Working on money management and finances is integral when working on securing or maintaining stable housing, preparing to reenter the workforce, managing family finances, and other social service delivery. The San Francisco Office of Financial Empowerment is part of CFPB's 2017 cohort to help spread the word about Your Money, Your Goals to local city agency and nonprofit staff.

Regional Advocacy Efforts

In 2017, members of the Smart Money Network expressed interest in getting involved in local policy efforts. Policy advocacy is a key part of OFE's new strategic plan and efforts have begun to take shape for a plan for involving OFE's local partner organizations. Interested in getting involved? Contact Jacob at jacob.dumez@sfgov.org

Training Opportunities

In addition to trainings on the YMYG curriculum, there are upcoming trainings to hear about new updates to OFE programs such as Bank On and Kindergarten to College (K2C). If your department or organization is interested in attending a training on OFE programs, please reach out to Sarah at sarah.teater@sfgov.org
