MISSION STATEMENT OF SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY FACILITY COMMISSION
To advocate and encourage the promotion of special services for the improvement of entrepreneurial business opportunity, health, safety, welfare of residents in the Southeast Sector of the City and to promote diversity and the health, safety as well as professional development of its employees.

 

AGENDA

 

Request for public comment may also be heard after Commission discussion of an agenda item by completing an information card and submitting it to the Commission secretary.  Requests are given “first come - first serve” priority and speakers may be limited to three minutes.

 

1.0    ANNOUNCEMENT:  The Sunshine Ordinance prohibits the use of electronic sound-producing devices at/during public meetings.  Please be advised that the meeting Chair may remove any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices from the meeting room.

 

2.0    ROLL CALL AND SUNSHINE AUDIO RECORDING POLICY

 

3.0    CONSENT CALENDAR:  All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda, are considered routine by the SECF commission and will be acted upon by a single vote of the Commission.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission or a member of the public so requests before or at the meeting when the consent Agenda is called, in which event the matter shall be removed from the consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.

3.1    PROPOSED ACTION:  Be it resolved that the minutes of the regularly scheduled Commission meeting of Thursday, May 9, 2013, be approved as submitted.

 

4.0    PUBLIC COMMENT IS LIMITED TO 3 MINUTES

Members of the public may address the commission up to three minutes on matters under the jurisdiction of the Commission not on today’s agenda.  Speakers shall address their remarks to the Commission as a whole and not individual Commissioners or Department staff.

This portion of the agenda is not intended for debate or discussion with the Commission or staff.  Please simply state your business or matter you wish the Commission or staff to be aware of.

Southeast Community Facility Commission resolution in support of Karen Kubic, Director Of The Wastewater Enterprise Capital Improvement Program which consists of the multi-billion dollar Sewer System Improvement Program and the $90 million per year Renewal & Replacement Program For The City And County Of San Francisco’s Public Utilities Commission. – In progress

Resolution to the Board of Supervisors for a first source - first choice mandate for all people in District 10, particularly in Bayview Hunters Point for all jobs that are relevant to the Wastewater Enterprise Capital Improvement Program project. – In Progress

 

6.0    ANNOUNCEMENTS (Discussion Only)

-The next meeting of the Southeast Community Facility Commission will be Thursday, June 13, 2013.  The scheduled presenter is Dr. Thelma Scott-Skillman, Interim Chancellor, City College of San Francisco
Dr. Scott-Skillman has been invited to meet the Commission and the residents of the Southeast Sector
-Residents of 94124 receive FREE vaccines for your dog every 2nd Saturday of every month through December 2013
-Residents of 94124 enter SPCA drawing to win a share of $6,500 in prizes

The next meeting of the Joint PUC/SECFC Advisory Committee is tentatively scheduled for June 28, 2013.

Health, Housing and Public Safety Advisory Committee, (Chair, Commissioner Bobbrie Brown, Co-Chair, Commissioner Al Norman, Community Members <see Commission Secretary for List> Ex-Officio: Commissioner Willie B. Kennedy)

Commissioner Bobbrie Brown will provide a report from the Health, Housing and Public Safety Advisory Committee meeting held on Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the bungalow conference room at 1800 Oakdale Avenue.

The Health Fair is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Planning meetings for the 2013 Health Fair are scheduled for Thursdays at noon on the following dates:  June 13, July 18, August 15, September 12, September 26, October 3, October 10, October 17, and October 24. 

Economic Development Advisory Committee, (Chair, Commissioner Karen Chung, Co-Chair, Commissioner Al Norman, and Ex-Officio, Commissioner Willie B. Kennedy)

Commissioner Karen Chung will provide updates from the Tuesday, May 14 & May 21, 2013 Economic Development Advisory sub-Committee meetings.

The Job Fair is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
