2. Review SFHA Meeting Outcomes
Update:
SFHA and ATF are both happy and seem to be agreeing on initiative details
One thing that got narrowed was that anything labeled “bad” or “very bad” will be revisited.
Using camera to scope all work with contractors (Sparkle Bright). Want to have sparkle bright invest in cameras.
Would like to have a training for all Property Managers at Sunnydale and expand to
Would like additional cameras to have 4 cameras in use at all time.
Karen revised MOE to say:
Sparkle Bright audit will be for bad and very bad in rainy season
Insterted actual dates of training
Removed redundant language re: Sparkle bright
Tracking section is a placeholder
January 17th – Training Day (Show and tell of cameras)
Proposal is ½ day training for Property Mangers and ½ day training for community stakeholders
Purpose is to learn about existence of camera, basic imaging interpretation, and overall project
Committee agreed to keep it narrow, build on practicality,
This is only a first step to continue positive relationship
Possible uses of funds:
1 additional camera
Evaluation process -Could pay a community group to conduct surveys; tenant education piece
Discuss whether to pilot quick release bars or putting bars on windows
|
Karen will submit quote to trainer; Will write in specification to complete course follow up
Anjali will have Breathe CA arrange for food for Jan 17th training

3. Review any progress on Asthma-Safe Healthy Housing Guidelines in development
Tobacco Free Coalition presented their model language which we might look at for models with existing and new housing
Reviewed Draft White Paper – covers:
New Construction with and without public money
Target: Any dwelling R1 (3+), R3 (1-2)
Existing housing with and without public money
Target: 3 or more units (tied to hotel and condo fee), R1
Reminded about discussion with Cal Broomhead about Whole House Performance Testing – working with MOH. Would be great to have SFE
Mark indicated that Benchmark Environmental offers WHPT as service. Karen suggested Mark be in touch with Mr. Broomhead.
I.J. need to revisit how this can be carried out; link to family housing emphasis
IIA. Regardless of whether they have natural ventilation, must still use a fan
What are the incentives?
Education of Private lenders/developers
WHPT requires more staff than using cameras and anticipate that it costs more
Need to research which code violations WHPT can be linked to
Neil suggested consulting with Dennis Livingston
|
Will look at language from Code 19F at next meeting
PMC and Policy Link could help us with developing white paper
Karen will ask Karen Yu about how Mercy Housing worked
Karen will revise White Paper
Anjali will resend a letter to the Planning Dept. to invite to Enviro Committee when she returns
Matt is looking into how to expedite permit approvals
Mark will find out how much WHPT costs
Get LEED list of what they give points for (criteria list)
