1) Recap of New American Media Roundtable Event (10 min)
· 2 articles published in Chinese
· 2 interviews with Maria
· Positive feedback from Sandy Close & Kay Leventhal of NAM
· One phone call Dept. of Env in response to radio. Bolivian owner of domestic cleaning service wanted more info. Cynthia sent fact sheet and connection to WAGES
· Ngoc may attend Dec 13th store inventory project
· KALW wants interview re: budget cuts
2) Banner Ad Discussion with New American Media
· Look at Cynthia’s motor oil examples
· Tag line: Save $, Protect Your Health with SFATF logo
· No funding for commercial advertising, banners will be on New American Media Site.
· Need artist to design. Karen will f/u with designer used for previous SFATF activities
· Banner will link to Dept of Env site. Add link to PSR, CPR, SFATF
3) Pesticide and Household Cleaning Product Survey Logistics (15 min)
· Idea – Tailor survey to property managers?
o Have you had any complaints?
o Interested in training?
· Sent 60 surveys to 6 Healthy Homes Participants. Microfiber cloths are available for incentives
4) Prioritize Work plan (40 min)
· Section B – f/u with CPR and confirm needs
· New ad commissioner has started -Need specific questions for pesticide data collection
· Karen is connected to professional property manager association if linkage is needed
· Idea: Property managers could give out pesticide and cleaning info to residents with new leases. Resistance in past because owners don’t want to offend tenants and suggest they are not clean.
· Barrier to tenant action: They risk being fined when they report pests – Policy change?
· Green Action currently working on recruiting for pilot.
5) Store Inventories (15 min)
· Draft key informant questions for store managers – may need translation.
o Will stores allow table demonstrations?
o What incentives are needed? (Previous good neighbor project received free energy audits from Mayor’s office of redevelopment. They also were able to trade out products)
o Would you be willing to pull stocking info for 6 -12 months?
· Need consumer demand for alternatives. Create cost table of different products
· Model – Lucky Store in Oakland “Organic isles”
· Need: f/u to Alycia’s work. Did it change SF specs? When is next round of EPP purchasing for the city?
· Walgreens & Longs expressed interest in project.
