1)       Review Toxics Use Reduction Work Plan and Prioritize Work for Oct – Dec, 2008. 

Today’s focus:  Draft survey for Healthy Homes participants.  See final product.

Continual need to connect with other organizations working on toxics use reduction:

§      Women’s Voices for the Earth (Montana) Ann Blake helped with their Report Card on Cleaning Products

§      American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (CHE) AAOHN. Michael Lerner

§      Karen Yu – May be able to help link to people working with unions..252-3957

§      Maria – Domestic workers women’s day program La Raza. (WAGES – Ann Blake is on board.)

§      Note:  Need Spanish Labels & Outreach on products such as 7th generation. 

§      Breast Cancer Fund

New American Media Nov 13th Roundtable Event. News Story Feed.  Occ health physicians will share their expertise.  Youth activists?  School education program (Tammar Herwitz).  Need talking points for how residents can make informed decisions about shopping.  Dollar stores inventory.  Hair products

 

2)       Report Back: Healthy Housing Training

 

45 people signed up.  Need to f/u with presenters and get permission to distribute surveys at event.

 

Last week’s training:  6 speakers La Croix.  People enjoyed mold information and asked a lot of questions.   Mold protocols & procedures available. Quantification of mold not necessary.  Focus on fixing moisture source. 

 

3)       Report Back: Code Enforcement Revision

 

Continue to work on revisions.  Capital improvements. Costs won’t be passed to tenants.
