Volunteer Opportunities

The Department of Technology partners with local nonprofits to hold community events where volunteers provide technology training and information to residents in underserved neighborhoods.  These events are held at community based organizations and schools throughout the City.

At these events, volunteers have fixed computers and installed software, trained people to use email, web-browsing, online banking, Internet phone calls over the internet; helped people find online information about college, small business resources, health information and homework help; deployed wireless internet networks and computer labs.

The Digital Inclusion Initiative also engages volunteers to help provide ongoing technology tutoring and mentoring at nonprofits and schools.
