AGENDA

 

        I.      ROLL CALL

 

      II.      APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

Action item: The Committee voted to approve the minutes of the August 17, 2005 meeting of the State Legislation Committee.

 

    III.      SET SCHEDULE FOR FUTURE MEETINGS

The Committee agreed to schedule future meetings for the first Monday of every month at 11am in City Hall, Room 288.  The next schedule meeting was set for February 6.

 

    IV.      PROPOSED LEGISLATION

Action items:  the Committee voted to support the following state legislation affecting the City and County of San Francisco :

 

A.      Mayor’s Office State Legislative Plan.  This document summarizes key legislation and issues that the Mayor’s Office recommends the City support, oppose, or closely monitor during the 2006 state legislative session. 

Position taken:  Support

 

B.      SB 1024 (Perata):  to authorize sale of approximately $14 billion in bonds to finance: flood protection, transportation, high-speed rail, housing, and other infrastructure projects.

Position taken:  Support if amended to include San Francisco ’s priorities.

 

C.      AB 1783 (Nuñez):   to authorize sale of bonds to finance:  transportation, flood control, safe water systems, environmental improvement, housing, hospital seismic safety repair, emergency public safety communications equipment, and other infrastructure porjects.

Position taken:  Support if amended to include San Francisco ’s priorities.

 

 

      V.      SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS

Discussion item:  members of the Committee did not suggest future agenda items.

 

    VI.      GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT

Discussion item:  there were no members of the public who wished to comment.
