      II.      APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

Action item: the Committee approved the minutes of the April 3, 2006 meeting of the State Legislation Committee.

    III.      PROPOSED LEGISLATION

Action items:  the Committee took the following positions on the following state legislation affecting the City and County of San Francisco:

A.      AB 2567 (Arambula):  to provide tax credits for businesses that perform research and development on renewable energy technologies.

Position taken:  Tabled

B.      SB 1754 (Lowenthal):  to create Housing Infrastructure Finance districts.

Position taken:  Support

 

C.      SB 1712 (Migden):  to create a three-year pilot project in San Francisco to increase the number of adoptions of hard to place foster youth

Position taken:Support

D.  AB 2987 (Nuñez):to replace local cable franchising with statewide franchise administered by the California Department of Corporations.

Position taken:  Oppose

 

E.      SB 1619 (Dutton):to exempt from the state's sales tax the amount that aviation fuel costs more than $1.13 per gallon.

Position taken:Oppose
