1. Call to Order and Roll Call


Vice-Chair Kong called the meeting to order at 5:21pm. Commissioners present: Erica Kong, Jarrett Mao, and Lily Marshall-Fricker. Commissioners absent: Giovanna Soto, Cris Plunkett. Staff present: Leah LaCroix. There was quorum.

There was no public comment

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)


Commissioner Mao, seconded by Commissioner Marshall-Fricker, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Mao, seconded by Commissioner Marshall-Fricker, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)


There was none.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)
A. Discussion and Research on committee policy priorities and resolutions
The committee reviewed the 2016-17; 2017-18 Youth Commission Budget and Policy Priorities document, and discussed how they would like to follow up on recommendations made in the document. There was no public comment.
B. Dolores Park picnic lawn reservation pilot program
The committee read recent news articles regarding the Dolores Park picnic lawn reservation program. The committee asked staff to schedule a presentation from the Recreation and Parks Department at a future full commission meeting. There was no public comment.
C. Discussion on priorities for the 2016-17 Housing Environment and City Services Committee

Staff lead the committee in a discussion on how they would like to begin a briefing document for next terms youth commissioners, as well as asked for advice for staff. The committee suggested the following ideas;
• Invite former commissioners to present to the committee
• Staff send out background readings earlier in the year
• Hold a resolution writing session in committee following retreat
• Outline the semester/year in advance
• Have the Executive Committee set hard deadlines
• Review previous year’s budget and policy priorities
• Outline how the budget and policy priorities document is created

D. Review and update on recently introduced Board Legislation

Staff reviewed with the committee the legislation introduced at Tuesday, May 24, 2016 Board of Supervisors meeting. The committee asked staff to follow BOS File No. 160581, and 160588. There was no public comment.

6. Executive Committee Report


Staff shared that the Executive Committee will meet Wednesday, June 1, 2016. The Executive Committee thanked commissioners for their hard work on the Budget and Policy Priorities. There was no public comment.

7. Staff Report


Staff asked commissioners to send in the dates they will be out of town during the summer, and to schedule their summer office hours. There was no public comment
