2. General Public Comment

James Yorck – Huffington Post article 4/4/13 about PETA killing animals it got from shelters. Why didn’t the Commission mention the article and condemn PETA?

Comr. Fortier noted that she was mistakenly listed as being present at the May 9 meeting when she was not actually present.

4. Chairperson’s Report and Opening Remarks

A) Upcoming Commissioner Vacancies

Comr. Stephens – The Rules Committee of the Board of Supervisors has tentatively scheduled a hearing for June 20, 2013 to appoint people to the four Commission seats whose terms have expired on June 20, 2013. This has not been confirmed, however. Everyone who has applied for appointment to the Commission will be notified of the hearing date by the Rules Committee Clerk when a date has been confirmed.

5. General Public Comment

June Wilson – If you want to get information about PETA or other animal information, get Animal People newsletter. She has helped organize working dogs, e.g., from the Air Force or Coast Guard, to march in the Veterans’ Day parade. It is getting harder to organize every year.

Comr. Fortier – There are new signage in the Presidio about feeding wildlife. Maybe we can discuss this.
