Susannah Meek, Principal, Stoner Meek Architects, presented the revisions based on the comments from the October Civic Design meeting. Ms. Meek stated that the height of the screens had been altered to create a modulated rhythm. She also stated that the entry piece was raised to be more prominent. Ms. Meek said that the signage band was pulled out from the face of the building.
Commissioner Cochran opened the floor to public comment.
Commissioner Cochran closed the floor to public comment.
Commissioner stated that the 8-inch difference in screen heights would not read clearly as a deliberate design move. Mr. Kriken felt that the height difference would look like a mistake and preferred that the screens should all be the same height.
Commissioner Prior agreed with Mr. Kriken and felt that the height should be unified.
Commissioner Cochran stated that the height change seemed exaggerated in the model and that it would read as clearly in real life. She felt that the addition of more windows and increase in the height of the entry piece were good changes.
Commissioner Hunter said that the changes were good and enhanced the overall design solution.
