President Ordeñana called the meeting to order at 12:31 p.m.

President Ordeñana announced virtual meeting instructions.
Commission Secretary Alyssa Ventre announced public comment instructions.
- General Public Comment
There was no public comment.
- Director’s Report
Acting Director Bradley-Tyson reported on the events of last week’s Visual Arts Committee meeting which included an update on the Maya Angelou Sculpture Project. She also explained that Senior Racial Equity & Data Analyst Sandra Panopio is working with staff to finalize the agency’s draft racial equity action plan in order to meet the City’s December 31st deadline. She informed commissioners the agency’s plan would be reviewed at the November Executive Committee meeting. She also gave an update on the historic monuments project, the Community Investment grants cycle, and the draft calendar of Commission and Committee meetings for 2021.
Commissioners thanked Acting Director Bradley-Tyson for her work in the last few weeks and appreciated her jumping into the role quickly as she has been working to find resolution to many important items.
Deputy Director Lee noted that the final grant deadline is December 15.
Commissioners confirmed the current Executive Committee meeting time was satisfactory.

- Update on the Director of Cultural Affairs Search
President Ordeñana explained that the Arts Commission met in a special meeting and voted to appoint a candidate pending DHR negotiations. He said that after the meeting, he alerted DHR and the Mayor’s Office of their decision. He said he is awaiting an update from DHR and that he will share information as it becomes available.
Commissioners thanked Commission Secretary Ventre for her hard work during the entire search process and appreciated her efforts in making it a smooth and efficient process.
President Ordenana also thanked the Executive Committee members for their time and work throughout the process. He said he appreciated their partnership throughout the last several months.
