This meeting is being held by teleconference pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 and the Fifth Supplement to the Mayoral Proclamation Declaring the Existence of a Local Emergency. During the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) emergency, the Arts Commission’s regular meeting room is closed. Meetings of the Arts Commission will convene remotely.

Written Comment:
The public is encouraged to submit comments by emailing to art-info@sfgov.org. This email address will be monitored until Monday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. All comments received by the deadline will be read aloud by Arts Commission staff up to the three minutes maximum allotted to each commenter. In the subject line of your email, indicate the meeting date and item number. Note: if your public comment statement is read aloud by Arts Commission staff during an agenda item, this will count as your one opportunity for public comment on that specific item. You will not be able to raise your hand to make additional public comment on the same item if your statement has already been read aloud.

Oral Comment:
Public comment in regard to specific agenda items will be taken before or during consideration of the item. Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes per agenda item, unless the Chair has announced a different length of time at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers may not transfer their time to another person. Any person speaking during a public comment period may supply a written summary of their comments to be included in the minutes if it is 150 words or less.

  4. San Francisco Symphony Agreement
    Action

    Discussion and possible motion, pursuant to Charter Section 16.106(1), to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into an agreement with the San Francisco Symphony to support free virtual programs, outdoor concerts, and live performances in Davies Symphony Hall when permitted under state and local public health orders during the Symphony’s 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons for an amount equal to the Controller’s calculation of the ad valorem tax for FY 2021-2022 and FY 2022-2023, currently estimated to be $7,539,346.
     
  5. San Francisco Artist Grants (SFA)
    Action

    Discussion and possible motion to amend the San Francisco Artist Grants (SFA) to the following individuals (authorized by Resolution No. 0503-21-100) and approve the revised legal names; and, to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into grant agreements for an amount not to exceed $20,000 at this time:

The San Francisco Arts Commission Executive Committee will be held virtually due to public health emergency. 
 
Agenda Item Information / Materials Available 

Each item on the agenda may include the following documents:

Meeting Procedures 

1. Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note, that on occasion a special circumstance may necessitate that an agenda item be taken out of order. To ensure that an agenda item is not missed, it is advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. All agenda changes will be announced by the Chair at the top of the meeting. 

2. Public comment will be taken before or during the Committee’s consideration of each agenda item. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for the time allotted by the Chair at the top of the meeting or up to 3 minutes.   

3. Any person speaking during a public comment period may supply a brief written summary of their comments, which shall, if no more than 150 words, be included in the official file. Written comments pertaining to this meeting should be submitted to art-info@sfgov.org. 
 
Electronic Devices Prohibited 
The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers, and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting, except as necessary to participate remotely.
