Items are first introduced to the Commission then there is public comment. After public comment, the Commission discusses the item and then may vote on it.

A) Discussion and possible action to recommend that the Board of Supervisors enact a “Humanitarian Art Ordinance.”  A new amended draft ordinance will be presented that would make it a crime to produce media in which legally-defined animal cruelty is committed during the making of the media. Any person responsible for displaying this media would also be guilty of a misdemeanor or felony. Invited speakers include organizations and individuals in support of the ordinance as well as interested parties who may be opposed.

Disability Access:      Room 408 is wheelchair accessible. The closest accessible BART Station is Civic Center, three blocks from City Hall. There is accessible parking at the following locations: two (2) designated blue curb spaces on the southwest corner of McAllister Street at Van Ness Avenue; the Performing Arts Garage (entrance on Grove Street between Franklin and Gough Streets), and at Civic Center Plaza Garage. 

 

The following services are available upon request at least two working days prior to the meeting: American Sign Language interpreters, use of a reader during a meeting, or a sound enhancement system.
