8. Discussion with a representative (tentatively Bob Planthold) from Sr. Action Group or other senior or disabled group. Focus on street safety concerns of seniors. How can the BAC coordinate with seniors to achieve safer streets?**
9. ProBike/Walk 2004. Should the City of SF, coordinating with regional bicycle activist groups and advisory committees, put together a proposal for holding the ProBike/ Walk 2004 conference in San Francisco? Open invitation to such groups to attend and participate in this discussion.**
10. Nominations and election of BAC officers for 2001.**
11. Possible assignment of member or members to study the RFP for the MTC regional bike plan consultant hiring process (RFP already issued) and make contact with the selected consultant as soon as possible (selection probably to be announced 1/19).**
12. Working Committee Report
I. Discussion of Bike Plan and possible updates: focus on timelines for the Request for Proposal and consultant hiring process. Possible review of draft RFP.**
II. Golden Gate Park Concourse and nearby parking disposition. Review of recent plans, initiatives from the Concourse Authority, Sierra Club, Joint Transportation Committee, etc. Possible action.**
III. Possible endorsement of Sup. Leno’s recent resolution opposing the Caldecott Tunnel Fourth Bore, asking BART to rescind its resolution of support, and asking BART to work with regional agencies, local governments, transit districts, and the County CMA’s to develop a strategy for increasing reverse-commute ridership by better multimodal transit coordination and better land use.**
IV. Discussion and possible action with regard to preliminary Caltrans plans for the touchdown intersection of Market St. and the Central Freeway.**
V. Discussion of avenues by which the BAC might approach the SF Unified School District, with the goal of opening dialogue leading to a more bike-friendly schools policy (Casey Allen). Discussion of implementation of the 4/27/99 pro-bicycling, pro-walking resolution, passed by the Board of Education. Reports from BAC members who attended recent Board of Education meetings or otherwise followed up on suggestions made by Susan Silber at the December BAC general meeting. Possible action.**
VI. Follow-up to December discussions with and about the office of the District Attorney. Should the BAC appeal directly to the Board of Supervisors for money for dedicated prosecutorial/investigative staff or staff time, assigned to bike/ped cases? Possible action.**
VII. Discussion and possible adoption of a letter introducing the BAC to the new Board of Supervisors, welcoming them, and generally affirming the aims of the 1990 ordinance creating the BAC.**
VIII. San Francisco Welfare to Work programs. Might increased access/funding for bicycle commuting help Welfare to Work recipients get to jobs, child care, etc.? Possible report from Pi Ra or Jean Davis (per Dec. assignment). Investigation of tie-ins or renewed distributions from Yellow Bike Program.**
IX. Market St. bike lanes, especially with regard to chronic double-parking near Octavia. Strategies for alleviation, possibly allied with the Share the Road Campaign.**
