7. Approved resolution calling for supes to fund a Bicycle Education Program, especially focussing on at-risk youth: commending Susan Silber for her efforts in this area. The amended resolution cites a successful SFBC program in this area, but leaves open the possibility of other possible operators of any such city-funded program.
8. Seniors/bikes/peds. See above. Two meetings have been held. Campaign being planned which would emphasize common ground of the 3 groups.
9. More on Liaisons with supes, etc. Emily advocated "at least" a monthly call to assigned group or person. Limit number of issues in any meeting or discussion to 3. Use business cards if possible.
10. resolution postponed on MUNI/DPT integration
11. 3rd St. bike lanes. Approved by consensus a resolution calling for SF supervisors to "resolve to stripe bike lanes" on 3rd St, between 25th St. and Carroll, also on Caroll and Walker (see message to SFBAC Topica from Steven Bodzin on 7/13/01)
12. discussed posible demo sites for stencil program
skip to 15. Bike plan Update RFP. (Greg) G.H. argued that the RFP inappropriately neglects factors outside of street engineering questions, such as enforcement, education, the effect of CEQA review as currently conducted
14. postponed
13. next month’s topics (or carryover to July general mtg.) stencil study, bike plan RFP, bylaws/consensus process, 16th St. bike station, rubberizing street car tracks at key locations
Adjourned 8:37 p.m.
