7. Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Design & Cycling Safety (Proposed Resolution amended after last week’s discussion) Marc Brandt & Paul Wells: AV technology and cyclists’ pedestrian safety resolution for consideration.

 

 

 

8. Further Valencia St. Improvements (Update, Discussion & Possible Amendment to the Valencia Street “Shopping Zones” Resolution) – Catherine Orland: Kimberly Leung, the project manager of the Valencia Bikeway Improvements Project also plans to attend and provide an update.The MTA is in the planning stages for changes to Valencia Street to better accommodate the non-vehicular mix of people on this major commercial street. In addition, some advocates are proposing the SFMTA provide a design option for a pilot study within the bikeway improvement project that creates a “shopping district” on Valencia between 16th/17th Streets and 23rd/24th Streets, Considerations include bollards that raise and lower for emergency vehicle access, and are closed to private vehicles entirely, but open for commercial vehicles for some hours.
