1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL, INTRODUCTIONS

The meeting was called to order by Jane Duong at 3:35 p.m.

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JUNE 26, 2008
By motion of Mr. Hunntting and second by Ms. Feinstein, the Minutes from June 26, 2008 were approved.

3.   APPROVAL OF THE 45-DAY WRITTEN REPORT
There was a discussion of the 45-day written report with some proposed changes by the group to the language in the memo.  By motion of Mr. Oldag and second by Mr. Huntting the 45-day written report was approved with changes as discussed. 
4. PRESENTATION OF RESEARCH ISSUES BY THE OFFICE OF THE LEGISLATIVE ANALYST & APPROVAL OF GUEST SPEAKERS TO SUPPLEMENT PRESENTATIONS
The OLA presented their research findings on the following topics:
a. California law re: foreclosure rescue scams/predatory lending?  Local code enforcement? 
b. How could the City finance a 'rescue loan fund'? 
c. Mechanisms for purchasing foreclose properties and converting to affordable housing?
d. Research local code enforcement of housing code violations

By motion of the Mr. Ballesteros and second by Mr. Oldag, approved the OLA to work with co-chairs to identify appropriate guest speakers to supplement research topics. 
6. WORKING COMMITTEE BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Working committees met to discuss major issue areas and to prioritize solutions.
7. ADJOURNMENT

By motion of Ms. FOwen and second by Mr. Huntting, the meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
