Dear San Franciscans:

The Elections Task Force on Redistricting has entered its second phase in the restricting process. Having held meetings in each of the 11 supervisorial districts, tonight the Task Force will begin to develop new maps based on public comments and testimony. Tonight"s meeting will be held in Room 400 at City Hall.

Next week the Task Force will hold four meetings away from City Hall to receive comments on the map(s) being developed tonight and early next week. (They will also hold their regular meeting on April 1st at City Hall.) The meeting locations, dates and times are detailed in the attached announcement. Following the receipt of responses to the new maps, the Task Force may amend their proposed map. From April 9th to 11th, the Task Force will hold three Special Meetings at City Hall, as they strive to conclude their work. The Task Force invites all residents to comment in person, through email to ETFR@sfgov.org, or by fax to 554-4372.

On behalf of the task force, we invite you to share the attached meeting announcement with your neighbors, friends and associates. The task force welcomes all comments about the revisions to the existing districts as the members strive to balance the districts by population, and the legal requirements of the Voting Rights Act and the City Charter.

Sincerely,

Kate Gillespie, Outreach Consultant
