JUS.T.I.S. Governance Council Meeting
March 24, 2011 Minutes

Minutes from Feb 24 Meeting – Approved


From Executive Sponsor’s Update:
The Board of Supervisors approved the legislature amending the Administrative Code to add the City Administrator to the JUSTIS Governance Council and to designate the City Administrator as Chair of the Council. The Mayor signed the legislation on March 10, 2011.


From Technical Steering Committee’s Update:
The mainframe computer located at the OMP data center was successfully migrated to 200 Paul Street on Feb 20th

The JUSTIS development team is now part of the City Administrator’s Office and has physically relocating to City Hall. The Department of Technology and the City Administrator’s Office are addressing the transfer of project-related contracts and budgets, and service MOU’s between the two departments.

Project-related meetings that were being held at One South Van Ness are now being held at City Hall.


From Case Management System Updates:
Hub Activity/Server Project – There was an increase in off hour support after the mainframe migration occurred, particularly in addressing FTP issues. FTP is the current process used to pass data between the Jail Management System and the legacy CABLE system on the mainframe. Those issues have been resolved. The JUSTIS team is now focusing on performance fine tuning around the Hub, building out the Hall of Justice portion of the infrastructure, and expecting to resume work with the Department of Technology to connect 24 blade servers to the JUSTIS SAN.

District Attorney –Work is occurring on preparing the Subpoena Module in their case management system including obtaining staff assignment information from the Police Department and GIS information from the Emergency Management Department. The DA has created technical and statistical committees to address their need for developing and designing new statistical reporting capabilities.

Superior Courts – Reported that they expect to finish off their project in the next fiscal year. They have been in discussions with the JUSTIS team on data exchange processes and anticipate meeting on a regular basis with the JUSTIS team through the remainder of their project. They also hope to make a presentation to the Governance Council sometime in the next few months.

Sheriff – Anticipating a software upgrade from their vendor in early April that will address a number of interface issues currently existing with the JUSTIS Hub.

Adult Probation – Announced that they have completed contract negotiations with their vendor and have a signed agreement in place.


New Business – No new business was raised.
