From Executive Sponsor’s Update:
A special thank you goes to Emily Murase for acting as chairperson for this meeting.
Council was informed that that site preparations are underway at 1011 Turk Street. Electrical needs are now being determined.
Council was updated on budget developments. All departments are being asked to reduce their budgets by 1 ½ percent this year.
Our annual Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Technology related to support and services is being reviewed.
A draft version of the Memorandum of Understanding related to Configuration Management for departments scheduled to be connected to the JUSTIS HUB will be distributed for review shortly.
From the Technical Steering Committee’s Update:
Our recent activity on the Domestic Violence front was to better understand how the Police and Sheriff identify domestic violence related activities. Discussions with personnel from the Police Special Victims unit and personnel involved with the Sheriff’s Programs were held.
The JUSTIS team continued work on activities related to hub connections for the District Attorney, the Courts, and the Public Defender.
There was also activity related to use case definitions and notification alerts for Adult Probation and single entry booking for the Police and Sheriff.
From Case Management System Updates:
Hub Activity/Server Project:
The team has met with the Police Department’s Special Victims Unit and the people that run the Sheriff’s Programs to determine how they determine how they count domestic violence related incidents
The team is working with the Emergency Management Department on site preparations for the installation of our failover equipment. The immediate focus is to identify power needs and then work with the Department of Public Works to get it installed.
The team continued working their hub connectivity work with the District Attorney, the Courts, and the Public Defender. And they are now scheduled to have preliminary discussions with Adult Probation on their hub connection.
A new release of the JUSTIS Hub is also being developed to handle the added transactional traffic that will be present as more departments near hub connectivity.
Status of Women – Data Portal
The Department reported that they were moving forward with the hiring of a full time analyst.
The Department also announced that in 2012 no domestic violence-related homicides occurred.
Juvenile Probation:
The Department announced that they have completed all of their annual mandated reports for the Department of Justice.
Public Defender:
The Public Defender indicated that they have uncovered a few issues related to the data being mapped into their Case Management System that need to be addressed.
Police:
The Police Department reported that they were dealing with a contract renewal with ORACLE for additional work on their Crime Data Warehouse.
New modules are being developed in the Crime Data Warehouse including Case Tracking (for Investigators), Crime Mapping (including Predictive Policing), and enhanced Search capability (Google style) using Oracle's Secure Enterprise Search (SES) software package.
Adult Probation:
Adult Probation is targeting completion of their connection to JUSTIS by the end of 2013. A meeting has been scheduled between the JUSTIS team and Adult Probation’s vendor to discuss the requirements for the interface with the JUSTIS hub.
The Department is continuing to work with the JUSTIS team on use cases and notification processing.
