[Apply for Grants to Fund Summit.]
Resolution authorizing the Executive Director and the Chair of the Commission to seek funding from governmental and non-governmental sources to finance the immigrant rights summit.
WHEREAS, The Immigrant Rights Commission desires to hold an immigrant rights summit; and
WHEREAS, Organizing and holding an immigrant rights summit would require substantial financial resources; and,
WHEREAS, The Commission wishes to minimize any financial impacts that the immigrant rights summit might have to the City's budget by seeking outside gifts and funding to finance the immigrant rights summit; and,
WHEREAS, In accordance with Sections 10.170 to 10.170.6 of the San Francisco Administrative Code, the Commission must obtain approval from the Board of Supervisors before it can accept and expend any gifts and funding it may receive; and,
WHEREAS, Section 18944.2 of Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations requires a public agency to take certain actions before accepting gifts and funding from outside sources; and,
WHEREAS, The San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance requires the disclosure of the amount and sources of such funding as a public record when the amount of money, or good or services provided by outside sources worth more than one hundred dollars ($100) in aggregate; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Commission hereby authorizes the Executive Director and the Chair of the Commission to seek gifts and funding from governmental and non-governmental entities for the purposes of financing an immigrant rights summit; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Executive Director and the Chair of the Commission take all necessary steps to gain the approval of the Board of Supervisors to accept and expend gifts and grant funding from outside sources to finance an immigrant rights summit; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Executive Director and the Chair of the Commission take all necessary steps to ensure compliance with all legal requirements for the receipt of any gifts and funding received from outside sources to finance the immigrant rights summit.
