Although City Hall has 4 other entrances, if you wish to enter City Hall with a backpack, gym bag, or any bag that is larger than 11” x 17” x 7”, you must do so via the Loading Dock on Grove Street so that the contents can be screened and/or inspected by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department before entry.  

Please enter via the Loading Dock if you are carrying any of the following:

• Backpacks
• Gym Bags
• Sealed Items
• Drawstring Bags
• Large Camera Cases
• Other Bags Larger than 11" x 17" x 7"

The Loading Dock Entrance is located on Grove Street, between Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and Van Ness Ave., at the west end of the driveway.
