Child and Family Survey

Office of the Controller - City Performance Unit

2018 San Francisco Child and Family Survey

The Controller’s Office, in partnership with the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF), the Office of Early Care and Education (OECE), First 5 San Francisco, the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), and the Our Children Our Families (OCOF) Council developed the Child and Family Survey to learn more about families in our City. The 2018 survey was the first iteration of this biannual survey intended as a compliment to the existing City Survey.

The survey was conducted in two phases: online and telephone outreach to a random sample of San Francisco residential households with children, and in-person intercept interviews. The 1,280 respondents were residents of San Francisco who are a parent or guardian of one or more children 18 years old or younger.
