The Commission instructed the Executive Officer to schedule a Special Meeting on October 26, 2007, to hear the discrimination appeal of Joseph Engler and continue this matter.

REQUEST TO SPEAK ON ANY MATTER WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

 

Terry Ivy spoke regarding the assignment of Q – 50 Sergeant positions to Q – 35 Inspector requisitions.

COMMISSIONERS’ ANNOUNCEMENTS/REQUESTS

 

President Becerril requested a more regular accounting of the appeals that are outstanding, possibly every three months.

She also requested that rules be established regarding the manner in which a San Francisco Police Department officer is credited for out-of-class assignments.

 

Commissioner Casper mentioned that our rules do not contain any specific remedies which the Commission may afford with respect to the resolution of discrimination matters.

 

President Becerril further requested an opinion of the Deputy City Attorney regarding remedies that may be afforded by the Commission in discrimination matters.
