Minutes of Special Meeting – Closed Session

Friday, April 7, 2003

1:00 p.m.

I.          The Special Meeting was called to order at 1:15 p.m.

            Present:           Commissioner Donald A. Casper

                                   Commissioner Adrienne Pon

     Commissioner Linda Richardson (not present for Items I & II, arrived at

           1:24 p.m. at item III)

                                   Commissioner Rosabella Safont

            Excused:         Commissioner Morgan R. Gorrono

                                    Commissioner Casper presided.

II.   Public comment on all matters appearing on the Special Meeting Agenda Session.

None.

III.       Vote on whether to hold closed session to confer with legal counsel (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.10(d) and pursuant to California Government Code Section 54956.9) ‑ Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation.  (ACTION ITEM)

Action:            The Commission voted to conduct a closed session.  (Vote of 3 to 0; Commissioner Richardson not present for vote)

Closed Session started at 1:17 p.m.in City Hall, Room 400 and the following were present:

A) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL –

                 ANTICIPATED LITIGATION – AS DEFENDANT (Discussion Item)

                 Significant exposure to litigation: One Case

     Jurisdiction of the Civil Service Commission over Personal

     Services Contracts let by the San Francisco Unified School District

          Closed Session ended at 1:59 p.m.

Reconvened in open session at 2:00 p.m.

IV.   Vote to elect whether to disclose any or all discussions held in closed session (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.12a)  (Action Item)

Action:            The Commission voted not to disclose any and all discussions held in closed session.  (Vote of 4 to 0).

V.     Adjournment.
