RATIFICATION AGENDA

The following proposed personal services contracts have been posted by the Department of Human Resources for seven calendar days. No appeals were received by the Department of Human Resources during the posting period. In the absence of an appeal, the proposed personal services contracts are placed on the Ratification Agenda for Civil Service Commission review. No departmental representatives will be present.

All matters on the Ratification Agenda are considered by the Civil Service Commission to be non-contested and will be acted upon by a single vote of the Commission. There will be no separate discussion on these items unless a request is made; in which event, the matter shall be removed from the Ratification Agenda and considered as a separate item. Each individual addressing the Commission will be limited to a maximum time limit of five minutes for all items severed from the Ratification Agenda.

Recommendation: Resignation certified unsatisfactory; Future employment subject to the review of the Human Resources Director after satisfactory completion of five (5) years work experience outside the City & County service. No future employment with the Recreation and Park Department.

Recommendation: No future employment with the City & County of San Francisco.

REGULAR AGENDA

(8) Appeal by Alvin Leon Gordon of background rejection for Class Q-2 Police Officer, San Francisco Police Department. (File No. 0076-99-4)

Recommendation: Adopt report. Deny appeal of Mr. Alvin Leon Gordon. Sustain the decision of the Chief of Police.

(9) Appeal by Christine Deanna Kolda of background rejection for Class 8238 Public Safety Communications Dispatcher, San Francisco Police Department.

(10) Appeal of the Human Resources Director’s decision to deny Assault Pay by Gilbert Vidal, Class 9163, Transit Operator. (File No. 0112-99-3)

April 5, 1999: Postpone this matter to the meeting of May 3, 1999 at the request of Local 250-A.

Recommendation: Adopt report. Deny the appeal of Mr. Gilbert Vidal.

(11) Appeal of the Human Resources Director’s decision to reject the applications for examination of Ms. Anna Mui and Mr. Garrett Low in Class 5252 Assistant Mechanical Engineer. (File No. 0387-99-4)

Recommendation: Adopt report. Uphold the decision of the Human Resources Director on the rejection of applications for examination of Ms. Anna Mui and Mr. Garrett Low in Class 5252 Assistant Mechanical Engineer.
