1) The Civil Service Commission Regular Meeting of September 4, 2000 is cancelled due to the Labor Day Holiday. The Commission will hold special meetings in September, if necessary, to address any emergency matters. The Civil Service Commission will meet once in September on Monday, September 18, 2000.

Assistants. (Item No. 14)

October 4, 1999:The Civil Service Commission will obtain an
objective and neutral party, (Commissioner
Munson suggested an Administrative Law Judge)
to conduct an investigation into the use of the
Special Assistant classifications. The investig-
tion is to include all appeals, litigation or
threatened litigation, and, a general analysis of
all the Special Assistant appointments since the
inception of the classification to evaluate any
problems the creation of this special category has
caused. The objective neutral party will conduct
a thorough investigation, take testimony, where
appropriate, and report findings to the
Commission. Duane Reno, on behalf of Local 21
withdrew the request for investigation on one
position in favor of the broader investigation.

May 15, 2000:Report from the Department of Human Resources
on General Analysis of Special Assistants
accepted and approved.

July 17, 2000:Schedule for Commission meeting of
August 7, 2000.
