Welcome the Commissioners and public attendees; introduction of facilitator Michael J. Wong.

 

II.        8:45     Agenda Review, Goals & Objectives                        Michael J. Wong

Mr. Wong will ask all Commissioners and attendees to introduce themselves, identify their length of service on COSW and the organizations they are affiliated with.  We will also review the goals, objectives, agenda and set the context for the day. 

Action:  To approve the meeting agenda.

 

III.       9:30     Presentation and Dialogue

   The Commission will hear the Community Perspectives on the current and future trends driving women’s issues inSan Francisco.

             IX.      EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT                    

           

A.        3:35     Executive Director's Report                                      Executive Director Murase              Explanatory document – The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department along

5 principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW):  Implementation of Women & Girls Human Rights, Right to Adequate Standard of Living, Right to Bodily Integrity, Right to Adequate Healthcare, and Human Rights of Girls to Education and Social Services.

                                               

            X.         3:40     NOMINATIONS OF OFFICERS FOR 2008-2009                        

The Commission will nominate candidates for President and Vice President for 2008-2009.  The election will take place at the August 13 Commission meeting. 

            Action: To nominate candidates for President and Vice President for 2007-2008.

 

            XI.       3:50     PUBLIC COMMENT                                                           

This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.

Goodlett Place (San Francisco City Hall) and Grove Street.  In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to various chemical based scented products.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.
