A. Executive Director's Report Executive Director Murase Explanatory document – The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department along the 5 principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW): Implementation of Women & Girls Human Rights, Right to Adequate Standard of Living, Right to Bodily Integrity, Right to Adequate Healthcare, and Human Rights of Girls to Education and Social Services principles.

The Commission will nominate candidates for Vice President of the Commission for 2007-2008. The election will take place at the May 23 Commission meeting.
Action: To nominate candidates for Vice President for 2007-2008.
B. Update on Needs Assessment Lisa Korwin 20 min.
Lisa Korwin, the consultant conducting the Department's needs assessment, will update the Commission on the project.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
A. "Women Breaking Barriers" Exhibit Don Romesburg 10 min.
Curator Don Romesburg will provide information on "Women Breaking Barriers: Women's Music from 1964 to 1984," an exhibit of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transsexual Historical Society.
B. Family Violence Council Legislation Commissioner Evans 20 min.
Commissioner Evans will provide a briefing on the Family Violence Council legislation, the product of an 18-month planning process involving community stakeholders and relevant government agencies to reinvigorate the state-mandated county Family Violence Council.
Action: To approve the Family Violence Council legislation.

This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.
