5 principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW):  Implementation of Women & Girls Human Rights, Right to Adequate Standard of Living, Right to Bodily Integrity, Right to Adequate Healthcare, and Human Rights of Girls to Education and Social Services.

 All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women.  They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.  Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

A.     National Lesbian Summit                                           Associate Director Maria Cora          10 min. Maria Cora, Associate Director of the Lesbian Health & Research Center National with the University of California San Francisco, will          provide information on the upcoming National Lesbian Summit.

 

B.     San Francisco Rent Board                                                      Delene Wolf                            20 min.            

Delene Wolf, Executive Director of the San Francisco Rent Board will provide and update on the implementation of CEDAW at the Rent Board. 

                                            

C.     Adoption of the Budget for FY09-10                                     Executive Director Murase   30 min.

Executive Director Murase will review the proposed budget for FY09-10.

Action:  Adopt the budget for FY09-10.

This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.

Goodlett Place (San Francisco City Hall) and Grove Street.  In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to various chemical based scented products.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.
