They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission. Action: Approve a letter to President al-Bashir of Sudanexpressing concern about acts of violence against women as a weapon of war in the Darfurconflict and urging him to take action and to protect the women and girls of Darfur.

Action: Approve a letter of support to Assemblyperson Jacksonurging the passing of AB 358.
- NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION
a. California State Labor Commission Attorney Miles Locker 10 min.
Mr. Locker of the California State Labor Commission will talk about the history of the labor dispute between the San Francisco exotic dancers and club owners and managers and the legal implications.
b. Lack of Protection for Homeless Women Carolyn Ritchie 10 min.
Ms. Ritchie will speak about the lack of protection for women in SRO hotels and those who live on the street. Ms. Ritchie will discus providing separate space for women.
c. Women’s Audio Mission Ms. Terri Winston 10 min.
Ms. Winston will discuss the lack of female representation at the upcoming Audio Engineering Society’s conference this October.
- Election of Commission Officers for 2004-2005 President Shorter 10 min.
On the July 28, 2004 Commission Meeting, Commissioner Shorter was nominated for President of the Commission and Commissioner Williams was nominated for Vice President.
Action: To elect a President and Vice President for 2004-2005.
e. Women’s Meeting with Mayor Newsom Commissioner Keehn 10 min.
On July 14th, members of the Commission, the Department, women-focused agencies and other women leaders were invited to meet with Mayor Newsom to discuss the following items and their impact on the women and girls of San Francisco: budget cuts, housing, child-care, minority/women/locally-owned business ordinance and domestic violence.
Action: To adopt next steps, including the possible formation of task forces with the Mayor's Office, the City Attorney and District Attorney, Supervisors and/or other agencies regarding:

The Board of Supervisors has amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding provision 67A.1. The provision is effective as of January 21, 2001.
