Dr. JoAnn McAllister will discuss recommendations from the “Batterer Program Compliance Study.”

Necolious Hooker, Community Liaison from Bay View Hunter’s Point Family Resource Center , will present on the agency’s programs and services.

A. Candidates for Oversight Panel Members                                      Commissioner Dorka Keehn                  5 min.

Commissioner Keehn will present the four Oversight Panel candidates, Roxanne Hoegger Alejandre, Juana Flores, Trish Erwin, and Antonio Ramirez.

Action: To approve two new members for the Oversight Panel.

 

B. New Juvenile Facility                                                                 Commissioner Dorka Keehn            2 min.

Commissioner Keehn will discuss concerns about safety issues related to the new juvenile facility.

Action: To approve letter to Presiding Judge Robert Dondero regarding safety issues with the new facility.

A. Protocols Committee Report                           Ken Theisen for Trish Erwin and Sally Pina       15 min.

Ken Theisen will discuss each relevant city department’s status regarding implementing recommendations from Justice and Courage: A Blueprint for San Francisco’s Response to Domestic Violence, and establishing domestic violence response protocols.

 

B.   Resources Committee Report                              Beverly Upton and Captain Marsha Ashe       15 min.

Beverly Upton and Captain Marsha Ashe will discuss major goals for the coming year and present an update on the Domestic Violence Cross-Training Institute.

 

C. Report on Quarterly Meetings with Department Heads                Dr. Emily Murase          10 min.

D. Filipina Community Association Update                                       Ken Theisen                      5 min.

Mr. Theisen will report on the activities of the Filipina Community Association and the group’s work to have a memorial for Claire Joyce Tempongko, which will act as a kick-off event for domestic violence awareness in the coming year.

 

E.   Status of Media Outreach                                                             Commissioner Dorka Keehn       3 min.

Commissioner Keehn will discuss the activities and near term goals of the media outreach plan.

 

F.   JUSTIS Report                                                                  Commissioner Dorka Keehn        5 min.

Commissioner Keehn will discuss the October 6 meeting. A user group will be convened to provide additional input into the Domestic Violence Reporting and Query Module.

A. Strategic Plan for FY 05-06                                                           Commissioner Dorka Keehn      20 min.

Commissioner Keehn will discuss an overall strategic plan for the Justice and Courage Project.

Action: To approve a strategic plan for FY 05-06.

American Sign Language interpreters and a Sound Amplification System provided upon request with 48-hour advance notice to 415-252-2570. Translation into languages other than English is also available with 48-hour notice.
