IV. BUSINESS
A. Photo Documentation of Injuries DISCUSSION/ACTION 5 min.
Dr. Leigh Kimberg will provide an update about the April 29, 2009 training on new photo documentation requirements, and the group will discuss next steps in coordinating a community and/or criminal justice training.
B. Report on Family Violence in San Francisco DISCUSSION/ACTION 10 min.
The Steering Committee will provide an update about the status of the distribution of the Report.
C. Intervention Services DISCUSSION/ACTION 50 min.
Participants will hear additional presentations and engage in a wider discussion related to intervention services, primarily looking at models that can be used in child abuse and elder abuse cases.
1. Delia Ginorio, Sheriff’s Department – Resolve to Stop the Violence Project (RSVP), an in-custody batterer’s intervention program
2. Kelli Finley, Community Works – Parenting Inside Out program for child visitation at the jail
3. Stephanie Romney, Parent Training Institute – Incredible Years and Triple P model for at risk families and families with child welfare referrals
D. Emerging Issues in Child Visitation Services DISCUSSION/ACTION 10 min.
Sonia Melara or Rally Visitation Services will provide an overview of visitation services as they relate to partners in the domestic violence community, including custody and safety issues for women and children, and new legislation being considered for the fall.
E. Current Trends in Family Violence/Announcements DISCUSSION 5 min.
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and share new or emerging trends in the field of family violence. This will also be an opportunity for sharing relevant information and announcements with attendees.
V. PUBLIC COMMENT DISCUSSION 4 min.
This item is to allow members of the public to comment, for a maximum of 2 minutes each, on matters within the Council’s purview, as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Council’s future consideration.
VI. ADJOURNMENT ACTION 1 min.
